Volunteering

OUR VOLUNTEERS MAKE THIS POSSIBLE!
For the past 15 years volunteers have been critical to making our event a huge success. As we prepare for the 15th Annual Mutt Strut Event, we’re once again in need of a dedicated volunteer team to staff positions throughout the event, including setup and breakdown.

You can be an important part of this day. The positions require you to be on-site early in the morning and you will be working for the duration of the day (during event hours), so you’ll be unable to participate in the actual event itself. This is a physical day that will require you to walk, stand, be exposed to music and many, many people and their dogs.

Because it’s a hectic day, we require that all volunteers leave their pets at home so they can fully concentrate on the event. We also request that event volunteers are 18 years or older.

All positions must be scheduled and confirmed prior to the event. We apologize, but we will not be able to accommodate volunteers who have not pre-arranged their position.

Your reward? You’ll have the opportunity to chat with hundreds of passionate animal lovers and visit with lots of happy, tail-wagging dogs. We promise you’ll take home great memories – and probably some great pictures! – from the event!

Please contact our Volunteer Department, at 313-943-2697 x 1016 or volunteers@metrodetroitanimals.org.

You can volunteer for the event even if you are not currently an FAMD volunteer! If you are not a current FAMD volunteer and would like to help out at the event, please complete the form here.
